Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) High Glucose is a widely used liquid cell culture medium that provides basic nutrients for all cell culture applications. It can be used to cultivate glial cells, neurons, HUVECs, primary fibroblasts, and smooth muscle cells, as well as cell lines such as HeLa, HEK 293, PC-12, and Cos-7.
DMEM comes in a variety of formulations, in which the composition of components may differ. The original formulation of DMEM contains 1.0 g/L. In contrast, DMEM High Glucose has an increased glucose content of 4.5 g/L, is supplemented with L-Glutamine and Sodium Pyruvate, and comes without Sodium Bicarbonate (NaHCO3).
