Learn how to use this product

Minimum Essential Medium (MEM) with Earle's Salts was developed by Harry Eagle and, from there, modified in several ways, such as alpha modification, to suit various cell culture applications. It is used to cultivate numerous suspension and adherent cells, including HeLa, HEK 293, BHK-21, HEP-2, HT-1080, MCF-7, fibroblasts, and primary rat astrocytes.

This MEM with Earle's Salts is supplemented with Stable Glutamine. Stable glutamine (also known as L-Alanyl-L-Glutamine) is a direct substitute for L-glutamine and has increased stability. Liquid media provide basic nutrients for all cell culture applications. Each of Capricorn Scientific's™ high-quality cell culture media is manufactured according to the originally published formula or following modifications essential for consistent performance and stability of the culture medium.
