Learn how to use this product The Insect culture media Insect-XPRESS supports the growth of invertebrate cell lines derived from the fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda. This medium is perfect for suspension, monolayer, and shakeflask cultures of sf9, sf21, High Five, and Drosophila cells.

This protein-free medium contains L-glutamine and supports higher baculovirus expression.

Most insect cell lines do not require weaning from serum-containing or serum-free media into Insect-XPRESS culture media. If adaptation is needed, we recommend an initial split ratio of 1:2 in the Insect-XPRESS medium followed by sequential splits of 1:5 until the culture adapts to the new medium. You should maintain a cell concentration above 3.0 x 105 cells/ml during the weaning process.

For cryopreservation of insect cells, the Insect-XPRESS™ can be mixed 50:50 with Cryoprotective Medium (Cat. No. 12-769E). This Cell Culture Media is produced according to cGMP and labeled "For Further Manufacturing" (FFM).
