Most insect cell lines do not require weaning from serum-containing or serum-free media into Insect-XPRESS culture media. If adaptation is needed, we recommend an initial split ratio of 1:2 in the Insect-XPRESS medium followed by sequential splits of 1:5 until the culture adapts to the new medium. You should maintain a cell concentration above 3.0 x 105 cells/ml during the weaning process.
For cryopreservation of insect cells, the Insect-XPRESSâ„¢ can be mixed 50:50 with Cryoprotective Medium (Cat. No. 12-769E). This Cell Culture Media is produced according to cGMP and labeled "For Further Manufacturing" (FFM).
