Thermo Fisher's Verso First-Strand cDNA Kit, 100 reactions, provides the components required to reverse-transcribe RNA into cDNA. The system combines a high-affinity reverse transcriptase with an optimized buffering system and a choice of RNA-priming methods.
The Verso RT enzyme has reduced RNase H activity and a high affinity for RNA templates, supporting transcription through regions with secondary structure. Anchored oligo(dT) primers bind at the start of the poly(A) tail rather than at internal A-rich regions, helping to produce more representative full-length cDNA. Random hexamers are also included for priming across RNA templates.
An RT Enhancer is supplied to reduce contaminating genomic DNA during reverse transcription, without requiring a separate DNase treatment step. The kit can be used with total RNA, messenger RNA, ribosomal RNA and small RNA templates, and supports downstream PCR and real-time PCR analysis.
This format contains sufficient reagents for 100 reactions. The formulation is designed to generate a complete cDNA pool from the RNA template provided.
