The UVP FirstLight® UV Illuminator is a consistent and uniform excitation source, with only <5% coefficient of variance across the entire filter area. It is used for quantitative fluorescent imaging in various genomic and proteomic applications. The consistent illumination over the imaging surface results in high-quality images, and software correction of the uniformity or gel-to-gel comparison is not required. The light generated by the illuminator is UV-light of 302 nm.
