Strep-Tactin® Sepharose® is a 50 % suspension that can be used for the purification of Strep-tag®II or Twin-Strep-tag® fusion proteins. The resin is especially well suited for the purification of proteins with multiple tags, such as multimers, and that cannot be eluted from Strep-Tactin®XT resins because of the increased affinity. Due to the low percentage of agarose, it can be used to purify large proteins. Strep-Tactin® irreversibly binds biotin, so if free biotin is expected, BioLock should be used. The suspension format allows the packing of gravity flow columns with custom resin volumes. For a 1 ml resin bed volume, use 2 ml 50 % suspension.
Strep-Tactin® Sepharose® is not compatible with HPLC/FPLC due to low-pressure stability.
