Learn how to use this product The Strep-Tactin® Magnetic Microbeads are specifically developed for cell isolation and are not recommended for protein purification. Strep-Tactin® Magnetic Microbeads are microspheres covalently linked to Strep-Tactin®. They are suitable for selecting cells that express a Strep-tag®II or Twin-Strep-tag® - fusion protein on the surface. Another approach is isolating cells via a strep-tagged protein that specifically binds to a target cell of interest. This can be, for example, an antigen for B cell selection, an MHC class I molecule for T cell selection, or any type of antibody for a cell of choice. For this approach, Strep-Tactin® Magnetic Microbeads have to be complexed with a strep-tagged protein to generate a selection reagent. After the cells are isolated, biotin addition will cause the release of Strep-Tactin® Magnetic Microbeads from the cell surface.
