MagStrep “type3” XT beads can be used to purify strep-tagged fusion proteins in batch, single, or high-throughput format.
Specific magnetic beads with a smaller diameter (1µm) are offered for cell purification, and for biotinylated proteins, the MagStrep “type3” Strep-Tactin® beads are recommended.
The MagStrep “type3” XT beads show low non-specific protein binding due to their agarose surface and high specificity of Strep-Tactin®XT towards Strep-tag. This results in outstanding target protein purity and makes the MagStrep “type3” XT beads a perfect tool for the isolation of proteins or the identification of complexes via pull-downs, immunoprecipitation (IP), or co-immunoprecipitation (Co-IP). MagStrep “type3” XT beads are suitable for fast small-scale purifications in reaction tubes and 96-well plates.
The beads can easily and swiftly be separated with a magnetic separator (IB 2-1602-000). Magnetic separation eliminates the need for centrifugation and reduces the risk of disturbing the pellet or losing beads within the wash step to zero. The elution of target proteins or complexes can be triggered under mild conditions with the biotin-containing Buffer BXT or under denaturing conditions by boiling in the SDS gel loading buffer.
