SYBR Green stains are fluorescent dyes for nucleic acid gel staining that combine high sensitivity with low background. They offer an excellent signal to noise ratio and a lower mutagenic profile than many standard stains, which helps you generate clear results without compromising ease of use.
SYBR Green I enables sensitive detection of double stranded DNA and short oligonucleotides in agarose and polyacrylamide gels. It detects down to 60 pg of dsDNA and 1 ng of oligonucleotides, which makes it well suited for PCR workflows, apoptosis studies, and heteroduplex analysis.
SYBR Green II is optimized for single stranded DNA and RNA detection in agarose and polyacrylamide gels. It detects down to 100 pg of ssDNA and 2 ng of RNA, which supports reliable RNA gel electrophoresis and SSCP analysis.
Both stains are supplied as a 10,000X concentrated solution in DMSO, which allows straightforward dilution and reproducible staining when sensitivity and low background are essential.
