Learn more about this product
SeaKem Gold Agarose 25g is a very high gel strength, low EEO agarose with a standard gelling temperature. This Genetic Technology Grade agarose is used for rapid resolution of megabase DNA by pulsed field gel electrophoresis (PFGE).
The low EEO supports greater electrophoretic mobility of DNA compared with conventional agarose gels. Depending on buffer and agarose concentration, PFGE run times can be decreased by as much as 50%. The high gel strength allows easy-to-handle gels at low concentrations, including 0.5%, supporting separation of larger DNA fragments by conventional electrophoresis as well as PFGE.
Analytical specifications include a gelling temperature of 36°C ±1.5°C at 1.5%, a melting temperature of ≥90°C at 1.5%, gel strength of ≥1,800 g/cm² at 1.0%, and gel strength of ≥3,500 g/cm² at 1.5%. The product is supplied in a 25g pack.
