MetaPhor Agarose 25g is a high resolution agarose with an intermediate melting temperature of 75°C. It provides resolution capabilities that approximate polyacrylamide gels and is used for small PCR fragments and difficult-to-see bands.
MetaPhor Agarose can separate a 200 bp DNA fragment from a 204 bp fragment. Using fast running protocols, DNA differing in size by 1% can be resolved in as little as 1.5 hours in a 20 cm horizontal or vertical gel format. Gels at 2% to 4% approximate the resolution of 4% to 8% polyacrylamide gels.
The agarose is used for resolving AMPFLPs, STRs, and tri- and tetranucleotide repeats. Analytical specifications include a gelling temperature of ≤35°C at 3%, a melting temperature of ≤75°C at 3%, and a gel strength of ≥300 g/cm² at 3%. The product is supplied in a 25g pack.
