The lyophilized (freeze-dried) Proteinase K is supplied in various quantities. The addition of Proteinase K to nucleic acid preparations can be used to rapidly inactivate nucleases that might otherwise degrade DNA or RNA during purification.
The container is designed to reduce light exposure, and the contents can be stored at -20°C.
