The innuPREP Virus DNA/RNA Kit – PP Mini enables the fully automated extraction of viral DNA and RNA from various starting materials using the PurePrep Mini device. The workflow combines automated sample lysis with magnetic particle-based nucleic acid purification, followed by washing and elution in water.
The extraction process is performed in two steps: automated sample lysis and automated nucleic acid extraction. After lysis, samples are transferred to the DW Strip or DW Plate, available separately, and processed for downstream applications.
This kit is suitable for professional use with a wide range of sample types, including cell-free body fluids such as serum, plasma, and cerebrospinal fluid, cell culture supernatants, nasopharyngeal swabs, tissue samples up to 10 mg, and stool samples from 50–100 mg. The purified DNA and RNA can be used for amplification reactions, real-time PCR, and further analytical procedures.
The kit includes a Carrier Mix containing Carrier RNA, a synthetic DNA fragment, and MS2 RNA, which can be used as internal extraction controls with suitable detection assays. Use of an internal extraction control is recommended to monitor purification, amplification, and detection processes. Please note that eluates containing Carrier Mix are not suitable for nucleic acid quantification by photometric or fluorometric methods; specific quantitative real-time PCR is recommended instead.
The extraction time is approximately 35 minutes, with yield depending on the quality and quantity of the starting material. This 96-reaction format is intended for use with the PurePrep Mini low-throughput device.
