Hybridoma Supplement is a chemically defined supplement for cell culture media that can support the growth of hybridoma cells. It contains ethanolamine, retinoic acid, insulin, hydrocortisone, linoleic acid, and other growth-promoting factors.
When added to cell culture medium, Hybridoma Supplement supports the growth of hybridoma and is an alternative to the formerly used feeder cells. The disadvantages of using feeder cells may include a source of contamination, overgrowth of newly formed hybridomas, competition for nutrients, and variations in growth factor concentrations.
Hybridoma Supplement can be used in a culture medium under serum-free conditions. The low-protein content helps facilitate the isolation and purification of produced antibodies. The Hybridoma Supplement is provided as a 10x concentrate.
