Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) is a widely used standard cell culture medium. DMEM supports the growth of numerous cell types, and the variety of available formulations suits many applications. It can be used to cultivate glial cells, neurons, HUVECs, primary fibroblasts, and smooth muscle cells, as well as cell lines such as HeLa, HEK 293, PC-12, and Cos-7.
DMEM comes in a variety of formulations, in which the composition of components may differ.
