Low-toxicity DNA transfection reagent
GENIUS DNA Transfection Reagent shows very low cytotoxicity, compared to lipid-based or other polymer-based transfection reagents, as it is a sterile solution of a cationic polymer in water. The polymer forms compact, stable, positively charged complexes with DNA. These complexes protect DNA from degradation and facilitate gene delivery into various eukaryotic cells.
DNA transfection can be performed in the presence or absence of serum. In addition, it is also compatible with antibiotics, resulting in a fast and simple cell tranfection protocol without media changes.
High transfection efficiencies in various cell types
GENIUS DNA Transfection Reagent is ideal for high-efficiency transfection of various adherent cells including HeLa, HEK-293, NIH-3T3, CHO, Cos and Jurkat cells. Adherent primary cells can also be efficiently tranfected.
