The AmpliStar Ultrastrong Adhesive, Non-Tacky, qPCR Film Seals provide a pressure-activated seal for qPCR, long-term storage, protein crystallography and HPLC applications. The silicone adhesive remains non-tacky during handling and is activated only when pressure is applied to the sealing surface. This creates a secure bond around the wells and perimeter of the plate while helping to simplify film positioning.
Because the adhesive above the wells remains non-tacky, the film is also suitable for plates containing dry samples such as soil, seeds and insects. It can be used with flat-top, raised-rim and non-skirted PCR plates and offers a working temperature range from -80°C to +110°C. The film is certified DNase- and RNase-free, provides high optical clarity with low autofluorescence, and is chemically resistant to DMSO, acetonitrile and methanol.
Adequate pressure is required to activate the silicone adhesive and achieve a consistent seal. Using a sealing paddle or roller and making multiple passes in both directions is recommended. Allowing the sealed plate to stand for at least 10 minutes before thermal cycling can further increase the film-to-plate bond. A sealing paddle is included with each box.
